When Apple unveiled the AppStore in July 2008, they claimed that 250,000 people had downloaded the iPhone SDK, that 25,000 had applied to sell on the AppStore and 2000 had initially been admitted into the program. Since the launch of the AppStore, the number of developers has been rising consistently each day, and the number of unique vendors on any given day will soon reach 10,000.
